Originally formed in 2003, the Mere Singers are a thriving and friendly Shrewsbury-based community choir – open to all, no auditions and no requirement to read music. We perform an eclectic mix of new and traditional music from a wide variety of countries and cultures in venues large and small around Shropshire and the Welsh Borders.
For more information about the choir including how to come and sing with us, see the “About” page, if you are already a choir member and are looking for rehearsal tracks or performance information then head over to the “Members Only” part of the site (login required).
We are an open access choir and as well as counting two guide dogs amongst our ranks, we have recently received funding from the Utley Foundation Power of Music Award to help us support members of the choir living with Dementia.
I just got home from Mere Singers rehearsal – didn’t get chance to catch you before I left. Just to say that was such a fabulous, joyful and uplifting evening of harmony and song. Thought you’d appreciate some feedback. No idea where you get all that energy and positivity from but it certainly is infectious. Please don’t stop? Clare, Alto.
