Summer 2020 Lockdown Update:
For the last eight years the Mere Singers have joined together with other local community choirs every summer to sing and raise significant sums of money to support the Water Aid charity. Clearly this year that has not been possible, and so instead members of the Mere Singers have been working in isolation to learn, rehearse and record their own vocal part to “River’s Rising”, a song written by our musical director Mary Keith in response to the flooding in Shrewsbury earlier in 2020. Mary has then combined all the individual voices into a combined performance piece which can be seen on her YouTube page. If you enjoy it, donations to Water Aid can still be made via Mary’s facebook page

Originally formed in 2003, the Mere Singers are a thriving and friendly Shrewsbury-based community choir – open to all, no auditions and no requirement to read music. We perform an eclectic mix of new and traditional music from a wide variety of countries and cultures in venues large and small around Shropshire and the Welsh Borders.

For more information about the choir including how to come and sing with us, see the “About” page, if you are already a choir member and are looking for rehearsal tracks or performance information then head over to the “Members Only” part of the site (login required).
